Henry Bennett

Henry Bennett is a contemporary visual artist known for his evocative exploration of the interplay between memory, landscape, and abstraction. Born in 1986 in Chicago, Illinois, Bennett developed a fascination with both the natural and built environments of the Midwest, drawing inspiration from their coexistence and tension. After receiving his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he went on to earn his MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, where his work began to incorporate elements of collage, found materials, and layered paint, resulting in richly textured canvases and mixed-media works.

Bennett’s art delves into themes of nostalgia and transition, often using blurred forms and muted palettes to suggest fleeting moments and half-remembered spaces. Over the past decade, his work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the United States and Europe, garnering critical acclaim for its emotional resonance and innovative approach to surface and composition. Bennett currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, where he continues to experiment with new materials and techniques, deepening his inquiry into the ways personal and collective histories are embedded in place.
