Hang Aoki is a multidisciplinary artist renowned for exploring the intersections of memory, identity, and the natural world through evocative installations and mixed-media works. Born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, Aoki draws deeply from both Japanese traditions and contemporary global perspectives, blending elements such as washi paper, ink, organic materials, and digital processes to create immersive sensory experiences. After graduating from Tama Art University, Aoki’s early career was shaped by residencies in Berlin and San Francisco, where cross-cultural dialogues became central to their practice.
Aoki’s work has been exhibited widely in galleries and museums across Asia, Europe, and North America, captivating audiences with their delicate balance of fragility and resilience.
