Gabs Leyton

Gabs Leyton is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of identity, memory, and social transformation. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, and currently based in London, Leyton’s practice spans painting, performance, video, and installation, drawing on personal narratives and collective histories to navigate themes of migration, resilience, and hybridity. Leyton’s vibrant compositions often juxtapose bold color with delicate detail, inviting viewers into immersive spaces rich with symbolism and storytelling.

After earning a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London, Leyton has exhibited widely in both Europe and Latin America, including solo presentations at La Ciudadela in Bogotá and collaborative installations at Tate Exchange in London. Leyton’s work is informed by activism, community engagement, and a desire to challenge dominant cultural narratives, positioning art as a catalyst for dialogue and change.
