Fiedel

Fiedel is a Berlin-based DJ and producer known for his influential role in the city’s electronic music scene and as a longtime resident at the legendary Berghain club. Born Michael Fiedler, he began his musical journey in the early 1990s, making his debut at Subversiv, one of Berlin’s underground techno strongholds. His eclectic and genre-crossing sets quickly gained a dedicated following, marked by a deft blend of techno, electro, house, and experimental sounds.

Fiedel’s collaboration with Errorsmith as the duo MMM produced seminal tracks like “Donna” and “Nous Sommes MMM,” earning broad acclaim and shaping the sound of late-’90s and early-2000s techno. In addition to MMM, his solo productions have appeared on respected labels such as Ostgut Ton and his own Fiedelone imprint. As a Berghain mainstay since 2000, Fiedel’s marathon DJ sets are regarded for their spontaneity, hardware-driven energy, and refusal to follow formulaic patterns.

His approach to music—playful yet precise, with a deep knowledge of groove and rhythm—continues to inspire club-goers and producers alike. Fiedel is also noted for his technical skill as a selector and his ongoing commitment to pushing boundaries in the realm of contemporary electronic music.
