Eli Light

Eli Light is a contemporary visual artist based in the United States of America, known for his evocative explorations of light, color, and memory through mixed media and installation art. Born in 1987 in Portland, Oregon, Light grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, an influence that remains central to his work. He received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2009 and completed his MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013.

Light's practice delves into the intersections between perception and emotion, often using translucent materials, unconventional lighting, and layered textures to create immersive environments that engage viewers on multiple sensory levels. Over the past decade, his installations have been featured in numerous group and solo exhibitions across the United States, including shows at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
