Efdemin

Efdemin, the moniker of Berlin-based DJ, producer, and sound artist Phillip Sollmann, stands as a central figure in contemporary techno and electronic music. Born in 1974 in Kassel, Germany, Sollmann studied music and sound art at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and quickly emerged as an artist dedicated to blurring the borders between deep house, minimal techno, and experimental sound design. Efdemin’s productions, characterized by their rich textural layers, hypnotic grooves, and emotional warmth, have been released on renowned labels such as Dial, Curle, and Ostgut Ton, earning him a dedicated following in the underground scene.

His self-titled debut album ‘Efdemin’ (2007) and its follow-ups, including ‘Chicago’ (2010) and ‘Decay’ (2014), received critical acclaim for their subtle blend of dancefloor sensibilities and introspective atmospheres. Alongside his solo work, Efdemin has collaborated with a variety of artists and contributed to the expressive reach of electronic music by composing sound installations and exploring cross-disciplinary projects that include orchestral and acoustic elements.
