ECHT!

ECHT! is a dynamic jazz-electronic quartet based in Brussels, known for their experimental fusion of jazz improvisation with the textures and rhythmic intricacies of electronic music. Formed in 2017, the group consists of keyboardist Dorian Dumont, bassist Florent Jeunieaux, drummer Martin Méreau, and sampler-expert Boris Schmidt.

ECHT! draws inspiration from the beats, breakneck energy, and sound design of producers like J Dilla, Flying Lotus, and DJ Rashad, channeling these influences into live performances that blur the lines between organic musicianship and digital precision. Their name, taken from the Belgian slang for ‘real’ or ‘true,’ reflects their mission to create sincere, genre-defying music that expands the possibilities of modern jazz.

Through their debut album "INWANE" and subsequent releases, ECHT! has earned acclaim across Europe, with electrifying sets at festivals like North Sea Jazz and Dour solidifying their reputation as fearless innovators at the cutting edge of the contemporary jazz and electronic scene.
