DJ Hell

DJ Hell, born Helmut Geier in 1962 in Munich, Germany, is an influential DJ, producer, and pioneer of electronic music whose career spans over four decades. Emerging from the vibrant German club scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s, Hell became synonymous with genre-bending sounds that merged techno, electroclash, house, and EBM (Electronic Body Music). He founded the acclaimed International Deejay Gigolo Records in 1997, a label instrumental in the global rise of electroclash and the careers of artists such as Vitalic, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, and Fischerspooner.

Known for his flamboyant style and subversive approach to music and art, DJ Hell's output includes iconic albums like "Munich Machine," "NY Muscle," and "Teufelswerk," each reflecting his reverence for both electronic tradition and future-forward experimentation. As a performer, Hell has played legendary clubs from Berlin’s Tresor and E-Werk to New York’s Limelight and Tokyo’s Womb, consistently pushing boundaries with provocative visuals and innovative DJ sets. Beyond music production, he has collaborated with fashion designers and visual artists, embodying the crossover between electronic music and avant-garde culture.
