David Talzin is a contemporary artist known for his evocative explorations of texture and light through mixed media painting and installation. Born in Chicago in 1984, Talzin draws inspiration from both urban landscapes and natural forms, weaving elements of abstraction with subtle hints of figuration in his work. After completing a BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he extended his practice with residencies in Berlin and Tokyo, experiences that enriched his visual language and introduced multicultural motifs into his compositions.
Talzin’s work has been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions in New York, Berlin, and Los Angeles, and has been featured in major group shows at institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo. His practice often interrogates the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and digital imagery, resulting in pieces that seem to shift and transform under differing lights and viewer perspectives. Talzin currently lives and works in Los Angeles, where he continues to experiment with new materials and collaborative projects, always seeking to challenge the senses and invite dialogue about perception, memory, and environment.
