Daskaran

Daskaran is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of memory, language, and cultural fragmentation. Born in 1985 in Yerevan, Armenia, and now based in Berlin, Daskaran draws inspiration from the complexities of diasporic identity, blending traditional Armenian motifs with contemporary mediums such as video, installation, and sound. After receiving formal training in fine arts at the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, Daskaran embarked on a journey across Europe, exhibiting in cities like Paris, Tbilisi, and Vienna, and developing a reputation for immersive installations that invite viewers to contemplate the liminal spaces between home and displacement.

Their practice is informed by personal narratives, historical research, and a commitment to social engagement, resulting in works that are both intimate and universally resonant. In recent years, Daskaran has been recognized by major art institutions and biennales, and their projects often involve collaborations with poets, musicians, and community groups, underscoring a belief in art’s power to foster dialogue and healing.
