Danïelo

Danïelo is a multidisciplinary artist whose evocative work explores the boundaries between memory, identity, and urban experience. Born in 1992 in Rotterdam to a family of Caribbean and Dutch heritage, Danïelo’s creative practice embodies the interplay of cultures, reflecting both personal narratives and broader social themes. Primarily working in painting, mixed media, and installation, Danïelo’s distinctive style combines bold color palettes with abstract forms, frequently incorporating found objects and street materials as a nod to their city upbringing.

After earning a BFA from the Willem de Kooning Academy, Danïelo’s exhibitions have garnered attention across Europe, including notable showings at Kunsthal Rotterdam and Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum. Their work, at once intimate and urgent, grapples with questions of belonging and transformation in a rapidly shifting world, often inviting viewers to reconsider concepts of home and displacement.
