Coe (1)

Coe (1) is a multidisciplinary artist whose dynamic body of work explores the intersections of identity, memory, and the built environment. Born in 1987 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Coe (1) developed an early fascination with both urban landscapes and personal narratives, which now serve as primary motifs throughout their practice. After studying visual arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Coe (1) established themselves within both local and emerging art scenes, gaining recognition for their evocative installations, photography, and mixed-media pieces.

Their work is informed by a keen sense of place and often incorporates found materials, archival documents, and subtle interventions in public spaces to evoke questions about belonging and transformation. Coe (1) has exhibited in group and solo shows across the United States and internationally, including venues in Chicago, Berlin, and São Paulo, and has been featured in numerous publications for their innovative approach to contemporary art. In addition to their studio practice, Coe (1) is an active member of several artist-run collectives and is dedicated to fostering collaborative, community-based projects that challenge conventional boundaries between artist and audience.
