Children of Valis is an experimental electronic music duo formed in Berlin in 2018 by producer-composer Lilith Karim and multimedia artist Tomás Hesse. Combining fractured beats, evocative synth textures, and ethereal vocal manipulations, their sound draws inspiration from IDM, digital folklore, and science fiction cinema. The pair first met at a speculative art symposium, bonding over shared interests in cybernetic mythology and synesthetic visuals.
Since their inception, Children of Valis have released two EPs and a critically acclaimed full-length, "Soft Collapse," which was noted for its haunting atmospheres and intricate production. Known for their immersive live shows that merge generative visuals with algorithmic music, they have performed internationally at festivals such as Unsound, Atonal, and Mutek. In addition to their recorded output, the duo frequently collaborates with visual artists, dancers, and philosophers, exploring the boundaries between technology and human emotion.
Their work has been featured in art galleries, audiophile podcasts, and late-night radio, establishing Children of Valis as a distinctive voice in the avant-garde electronic scene.
