Chica Paula

Chica Paula, born Paula Schopf in Santiago, Chile, is a Berlin-based DJ, producer, and composer whose innovative fusion of electronic and experimental music has earned her a distinguished reputation in Germany’s vibrant club and cultural scenes. Moving to Berlin in the late 1990s, Chica Paula quickly became a key figure at the legendary Tresor and globally influential clubs such as Bar25 and Watergate, known for her eclectic and emotionally resonant DJ sets that span techno, minimal, and downtempo rhythms. Deeply influenced by her South American roots and the avant-garde electronic movements of Europe, she has collaborated with artists such as Max Loderbauer and Ricardo Villalobos, and is associated with the seminal label Monika Enterprise, curated by Gudrun Gut.

Beyond DJing, her work as a producer highlights a delicate approach to composition, weaving field recordings, organic textures, and leftfield pop sensibilities into immersive soundscapes.
