Cherry Lee

Cherry Lee is a multidisciplinary artist whose vibrant practice spans painting, installation, and digital media. Born in 1992 in Toronto, Canada, and raised between Seoul and Vancouver, Lee draws inspiration from her bicultural upbringing, exploring themes of identity, memory, and transformation. She received her BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2015, and later completed her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019.

Lee’s work is marked by bold color palettes, layered textures, and a dynamic interplay between organic and geometric forms. Her immersive installations have been featured in galleries across North America and Asia, including solo exhibitions at The Polygon Gallery and participation in the Busan Biennale. Cherry Lee’s art invites viewers to reflect on personal and collective histories, often blurring boundaries between fantasy and reality.

She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, where she continues to push the limits of material and conceptual experimentation.
