Cat Liu

Cat Liu is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the intersections of memory, identity, and the unseen forces that shape human experience. Born in Shanghai and raised between China and Canada, Liu’s work is characterized by a sensitivity to cultural hybridity and diasporic narratives, often manifested through painting, installation, and digital media. Her evocative visual language weaves together organic forms, archival materials, and dreamlike color palettes, inviting viewers into meditative spaces that blur reality and imagination.

Liu’s recent exhibitions include solo and group shows in Toronto, Montreal, and Beijing, and her work has been featured in international art publications. Passionate about community engagement, Liu regularly collaborates with grassroots collectives to foster inclusive art spaces and workshops. She holds a BFA from OCAD University and currently lives and works in Toronto.
