Carrier Profile Image

Carrier

Carrier is a multidisciplinary artist collective formed in 2018, known for their immersive installations and experimental soundscapes. Drawing on backgrounds in visual art, architecture, and electronic music, Carrier’s work operates at the intersection of sensory experience and conceptual inquiry. Their collaborative practice foregrounds themes of transmission, liminality, and the unseen structures that govern human perception.

Using materials ranging from industrial detritus and salvaged electronics to interactive light and sound, Carrier has produced site-specific projects in urban and post-industrial contexts across North America and Europe. Recent exhibitions include “Fields of Relay” at Flux Space (Philadelphia, 2022), “Static-Aux” at Vitrine Project (Berlin, 2023), and their commission for the Sonic Ecologies Festival in Montreal. Frequently engaging with local communities, Carrier’s participatory workshops and temporary installations ask viewers to reconsider notions of communication and the boundaries between bodies, objects, and environments.

Their evolving body of work has garnered attention in publications such as Art in America, e-flux, and The Wire, situating Carrier as a unique presence in contemporary art’s ongoing dialogue on technology, spatiality, and embodied connectivity.
