Bea Moy is a multidisciplinary artist whose evocative work lies at the intersection of personal memory, cultural mythology, and the transient qualities of urban landscapes. Born in 1989 in Manila, Philippines, and currently based in Toronto, Moy draws from their diasporic roots to explore themes of belonging, migration, and transformation. Their practice encompasses painting, installation, and digital media, often melding lush, dreamlike imagery with textured surfaces and archival materials.
Moy’s pieces are characterized by a sensitive layering of narratives, inviting viewers to share in moments of nostalgia and wonder while confronting the fragmentation and reconstruction that come with displacement. Moy is a graduate of OCAD University and has exhibited their work in solo and group shows throughout Canada and Southeast Asia. Committed to community engagement and arts education, Moy frequently collaborates with grassroots collectives and facilitates workshops that empower marginalized voices.
Their work has been supported by grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council, and they continue to push boundaries in representation and collective storytelling through their vibrant, deeply personal creations.
