Bära

Bära is a contemporary artist known for their evocative exploration of materiality and memory through a multidisciplinary practice that spans painting, sculpture, and installation. Born in Stockholm in 1989, Bära’s work is deeply influenced by Scandinavian landscapes, familial histories, and the shifting boundaries between nature and built environments. After receiving formal art training at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, Bära began exhibiting in local galleries before attracting broader attention for a 2017 solo exhibition that interrogated the emotional resonance of everyday objects.

Bära’s art is marked by subtle textures and a muted palette, often incorporating found materials and organic forms to evoke themes of transience and belonging. Drawing on personal narratives as well as broader sociocultural dialogues, Bära’s installations invite viewers into quiet moments of reflection and connection. Their work has been featured in museums and contemporary art spaces across Europe and North America, and Bära continues to live and work in Stockholm, committed to fostering dialogue between community, history, and the natural world.
