Andy Barton

Andy Barton is a contemporary visual artist known for his evocative explorations of memory, landscape, and the passage of time. Born in 1983 in Portland, Oregon, Barton grew up surrounded by the lush forests and changing seasons of the Pacific Northwest, a setting that continues to influence his work. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design, he traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia, drawing inspiration from diverse artistic traditions and urban environments.

Barton’s paintings, mixed media works, and installations often combine organic textures, layered imagery, and subtle color palettes to create immersive atmospheres that invite contemplation. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows across the United States, including at the Seattle Art Museum and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, and has been featured in numerous publications. Barton currently lives and works in Seattle, where he is an active member of the local arts community and regularly collaborates with fellow artists, musicians, and writers.
