Andrea Belfi

Andrea Belfi is an Italian drummer, composer, and experimental musician born in Verona in 1979 and currently based in Berlin. Emerging from the thriving underground and avant-garde scenes of Italy, Belfi has developed a distinctive approach to percussion—melding rhythmic precision, atmospheric electronics, and minimalist sound design. His solo work, marked by critically acclaimed albums such as "Nature Moves," "Strata," and "Ore," explores the intricate interplay between acoustic drums and modular synthesis.

Over his career, Belfi has performed at major festivals and venues worldwide and collaborated with prominent artists including Nils Frahm, David Grubbs, Mike Watt, and Carla Bozulich, as well as forming part of the experimental trio Il Sogno del Marinaio. His music often inhabits the intersection of contemporary classical, post-rock, and ambient electronics, characterized by hypnotic grooves and immersive textures.
