Alex Wang is a multidisciplinary artist whose vibrant work spans painting, sculpture, and new media installation. Born in Vancouver, Canada, in 1990, Wang integrates influences from urban life, popular culture, and personal heritage to create visually striking pieces that invite viewers to re-examine their perceptions of identity and space. After earning a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Wang quickly gained recognition for an innovative approach to materials and a bold exploration of color and form.
Their exhibitions have been featured in galleries across North America, Europe, and Asia, and Wang’s work is included in both private and institutional collections. In addition to studio practice, Wang is an advocate for arts education and accessibility, regularly leading workshops and community arts initiatives. The ongoing evolution of Wang’s oeuvre continues to reflect a deep curiosity about the intersections of technology, culture, and personal narrative.
