Air Max '97, the moniker of Melbourne-born, London-based producer and DJ Oliver Van Der Lugt, has firmly established himself as a key figure in the global electronic and experimental club scene. Emerging in the early 2010s as a founding member of the influential Australian label and collective **NLV Records**, Air Max '97 gained rapid international recognition through his idiosyncratic blend of club, bass, and avant-garde sound design. His debut EP, **Progress and Memory**, released in 2014, marked the beginning of a prolific output characterized by metallic percussion, hyperkinetic rhythms, and unpredictable structures.

Subsequent releases—including the acclaimed **Core Work** and **Ice Bridge** EPs, and the full-length album **Nacre** (2019, DECISIONS)—have cemented Air Max '97’s reputation as a restless innovator, constantly pushing at the boundaries of club music. In addition to his solo work, he has engaged in collaborations and remixes with a wide range of artists including Strict Face, SCAM, AYA (fka LOFT), and TSVI, further broadening his sonic palette. A fixture at forward-thinking clubs and festivals worldwide, Air Max '97’s DJ sets are celebrated for their intensity, unpredictability, and technical prowess, weaving together disparate genres into kinetic, high-voltage narratives.

In 2015, he founded the label **DECISIONS**, which has become a home for progressive club music and emerging talent from around the globe.
