Aimé

Aimé is a multidisciplinary artist whose work traverses the borders of visual art, sound, and performance. Born in Johannesburg, Aimé developed an early fascination with storytelling and the ways in which memory, sound, and texture can shape perception. Her practice explores cycles of identity and transformation, often utilizing found materials, evocative color palettes, and immersive installations to challenge conventional narratives.

Aimé has exhibited both locally and internationally, with solo and group shows in Cape Town, Paris, and Berlin. She frequently collaborates with musicians, writers, and community collectives, fostering experimental projects that invite participation and dialogue. Deeply influenced by postcolonial theory and Afrofuturism, Aimé’s body of work interrogates belonging and displacement, offering viewers poetic entry points into layered histories.
