Abu Samer

Abu Samer is a multidisciplinary artist known for his evocative explorations of memory, migration, and identity through a range of mediums including painting, sculpture, and installation. Born and raised in Aleppo, Syria, Abu Samer’s work is deeply influenced by his experiences of displacement and the rich cultural heritage of the Levant. After relocating to Europe in the early 2010s, he began to synthesize traditional motifs with contemporary forms, developing a unique visual language that bridges East and West.

Abu Samer’s art has been exhibited in galleries and art spaces across the Middle East, Europe, and North America, earning recognition for its poetic sensitivity and social engagement. Through the layers of texture, found objects, and calligraphic mark-making, his creations invite viewers into personal and collective histories, offering both solace and provocation in a complex global context.
