ABADIR

ABADIR is an Egyptian electronic music producer and sound artist whose work explores the intersections of club rhythms, experimental composition, and deconstructed Arabic music traditions. Based in Cairo and Berlin, ABADIR is known for his innovative approach to blending regional percussive forms with contemporary sound design, seamlessly fusing mahraganat, shaabi, and tarab influences with genres like footwork, breakbeat, and noise. Since the release of his debut solo album "Mutate" in 2018, ABADIR has garnered international recognition for his boundary-pushing productions, releasing on labels such as SVBKVLT, Genot Centre, and Hush Hush.

As a curator and music editor, he has played a vital role in shaping the discourse around Middle Eastern experimental music, while his dynamic live performances and collaborations with artists across disciplines continue to further expand the scope of his sonic investigations. Through his distinctive sound worlds, ABADIR challenges conventional narratives and creates a space for new modes of cultural expression in electronic music.
